本作は、東京を拠点に活動するシティポップ・レゲエ・シンガー、ナツ・サマーと、大阪を拠点に活動するラヴァーズ・ロック・バンド、Bagus! によるスペシャルなコラボレーション・シングル。シティポップ・レゲエを軸とするナツ・サマーと、ラヴァーズ・ロックを軸とするBagus!。独自の音楽性を展開してきた両者が出会い、軽やかさと奥行きを併せ持つ魅力的な一曲が誕生した。
「一番贅沢なコスメ、それはロマンスです」
そんな印象的なテーマから生まれた本作は、どこか懐かしさを感じさせ、まるで化粧品のCMソングを思わせる、ブリージンでロマンティックなナンバー。タフでタイトなレゲエ／ラヴァーズ・ロックのリズムに、都会的で洗練されたポップスの感覚が重なり合い、異なる要素が互いを打ち消すことなく引き立て合う絶妙なサウンドを生み出している。耳に残るメロディーとチャーミングで柔らかな歌声が織りなす世界観は、単なる“CMソング風”という言葉だけでは語りきれない独自の輝きを放っている。
Bサイドには、Ruv Bytes によるメロウかつ幻想的なダブ・ミックス「Cosmetic Dub」を収録。原曲のロマンティックなムードを保ちながらも、巧みな抜き差しやディレイ、リバーブが織りなす空間的なサウンドによって、Aサイドとはまた異なる表情を生み出している。タイトルにもある“Cosmetic（お化粧の）”というコンセプトをなぞるかのように、楽曲にダブという“お化粧”が施された一曲だ。
ラヴァーズ・ロックの甘美なムードと、日本のポップス感覚が心地よく溶け合った、春の季節にぴったりの一枚。
A new spring release from Japan's lovers rock label, " It's a Romance Production." This special collaboration single brings together Tokyo-based city pop reggae singer Natsu Summer and Osaka-based lovers rock band Bagus!. With Natsu Summer rooted in city pop reggae and Bagus! in lovers rock, the two artists merge their distinct musical styles to create a track that is both cool and rich in depth. The most luxurious cosmetic is romance. Inspired by this striking concept, the song carries a breezy and nostalgic feel, reminiscent of a classic cosmetic commercial. A tight and tough reggae/lovers rock rhythm blends seamlessly with a sophisticated pop sensibility, resulting in a perfectly balanced sound where contrasting elements enhance one another. With its memorable melody and charming, soft vocals, the track radiates a unique glow that goes far beyond a simple "CM-style" tune. The B-side features "Cosmetic Dub," a mellow and atmospheric dub mix by Ruv Bytes. While preserving the romantic mood of the original, skillful drop-outs, delay, and reverb create a spacious soundscape that reveals a different side of the track. In line with the "cosmetic" concept, the dub version can be seen as a form of sonic "make-up," offering a transformed listening experience. A perfect release for the spring season, where the sweetness of lovers rock meets the refined touch of Japanese pop.

本作は、レーベルのファースト・シングル「Bisca / It’s a Romance」を録音した2020年頃、同トラックを使用して制作されていた別アーティストによる作品である。
Aサイド「Make It With You」は、青森を代表するレゲエ・シンガー Sonia と、作詞家・白川大晃（Bagus!）による共作。迷いながらも互いの心に向き合おうとする愛を描いたラブソングで、Sonia のまっすぐな歌声が、寄り添うふたりの微かな視線と言葉の温もりを丁寧に映し出す。完成にあたっては、Keyco による艶やかなバック・コーラスをダビングしている。
Bサイド「Come Back To Me」は、Bisca「It’s a Romance」へのアンサーソングとして、Original Kose が書き下ろしたディージェイ・カット。リリシストが紡ぐ言葉が名曲に新たな視点をもたらし、畳みかけるような巧みなトースティングが胸を打つ一曲に仕上がっている。
This release originates from a project created around 2020, using the same rhythm track as the label’s first single, “Bisca / It’s a Romance.” It was produced at the time as a separate work by different artists.
The A-side, “Make It With You,” is a collaboration between Sonia—one of Aomori’s leading reggae singers—and lyricist Hiroaki Shirakawa (Bagus!). The song portrays two people who, despite their hesitations, choose to face each other with sincerity. Sonia’s clear and heartfelt vocals beautifully illuminate the subtle glances and quiet warmth shared between the pair. For the final production, Keyco added her signature, velvety backing vocals.
The B-side, “Come Back To Me,” is a Deejay cut written by Original Kose as an answer song to Bisca’s “It’s a Romance.”His finely crafted lyrics offer a fresh perspective on the original classic, while his dynamic, rapid-fire toasting gives the track an emotional and compelling drive.

本作は、Frankie Paris のレーベル〈Simplicity〉からリリースされた「Telephone Love」と同日に東京で録音され、ギター、ピアノ、ヴォーカルなどのダビング作業は大阪にて行われた。
Aサイド「時間をとめて」は、恋するふたりが共有する“数秒間のロマンス”を描いたロマンティックなラヴァーズ・チューン。
Bサイド「And Time Flows」は、Higgs によるグランドピアノをフィーチャーした、エレガントで余韻の深いピアノ・インスト・カットである。
This release was recorded in Tokyo on the same day as Frankie Paris’s “Telephone Love,” issued on his label Simplicity. Additional overdubs - guitar, piano, vocals, and more - were completed later in Osaka.
The A-side, “Jikan wo Tomete (Suspends le temps!)”, is a romantic lovers’ rock tune that captures the fleeting seconds of romance shared between two people in love.
The B-side, “And Time Flows,” is an elegant and deeply resonant piano instrumental featuring Higgs on grand piano.

古き良き日本のポップスと英国発祥のラヴァーズ・ロックのスタイルをかけ合わせ、それを現代のセンスで表現する彼ら。前作から約２年ぶりとなる今作のアルバム『THIS LOVE IS MELLOW』は、これまでに培ってきた個性を芯に持ちながら、よりUKラヴァーズ・ロックやR&Bの真髄へと迫った作品である。
白川が歌うタイトル曲や盟友のrichblackのラップをフィーチャーした「心にタトゥー」、ギタリストの小西が歌う「爪先立ちの恋」や彼自身が書き下ろした英語詞の楽曲「Your Indifference」の別テイク (バンド・バージョン)、キーボーディストの住野が歌う「日曜日の憂鬱」など、バンド・サウンドと打ち込みによるデジタル・サウンドの二刀流で、各々の持ち味が光る楽曲群がアルバム内に散りばめられている。まるでトルソーに飾られた花々のように、一曲一曲が華やかに、そしてロマンティックなムードを彩ってくれる。聴けば、きっとあなたの心も次第に“メロウに溶け込む”ことだろう。
The second album by Kansai-based band Bagus! is out now on It’s a Romance Production.
Blending the charm of classic Japanese pop with the UK-born style of Lovers Rock, the band expresses their sound through a modern lens. Their latest album THIS LOVE IS MELLOW, released about two years after the previous work, builds on their established identity while moving closer to the essence of UK Lovers Rock and R&B.
The album features a rich variety of tracks: the title song sung by Shirakawa, “Kokoro ni Tattoo” featuring rap by longtime collaborator richblack, “Tsumasaki-dachi no Koi” sung by guitarist Konishi, an alternate band version of his English-written track “Your Indifference,” and “Nichiyoubi no Yuuutsu” by keyboardist Sumino. Moving seamlessly between live band arrangements and digital production, each member’s individuality shines throughout the record.
Like flowers arranged on a torso, each song adds a vivid and romantic touch to the album. Listen closely, and you may find your heart gently melting into its mellow atmosphere.

近年、作詞家としても活躍する白川大晃が書き下ろした秀逸なリリックスを、ギタリスト・小西誠がジェントルに歌い上げた、Bagus!による王道のラヴァーズ・ロック・ナンバー。彼らのファースト・アルバム『恋の潮汐』からシングル・カットされた本作、アルバムではポップス・マナーなサウンドにミックスしていたが、シングル盤ではe-mura氏によるタフなレゲエ・サウンドに仕上がった。B面には浪速のダブ・マスターことSoul FireのHAV氏によるダブ・ヴァージョンを収録している。
It's a Romance Production, a label specialized in Japanese lovers rock is releasing their 3rd work. “Let Me Hear About Yourself” is a royal lovers rock number by Bagus! written by their lyricist/ songwriter, Hiroaki Shirakawa and sang by their guitarist, Makoto Konishi. Bagus! has already released the single cut with a pop-manner mix from their first album "Koi no Chōseki", but this single version is a tough reggae mix created by e-mura. The B-side features a dub version by HAV from Soul Fire, the dub master of Naniwa area.
